What does 265 GSM mean?

GSM is the fabric’s weight in grams per square metre. The higher the number, the heavier and more substantial the fabric. Our GSM weight guide explains how weight affects printing and embroidery.

Is 265 GSM heavy for a t-shirt?

Yes. As a rough guide, t-shirts under about 180 GSM are lightweight, 180–220 GSM is midweight and 250 GSM and above is heavyweight, so 265 GSM is a true heavyweight. For heavier still, our 320 GSM ultra heavyweight t-shirt is the heaviest short-sleeve t-shirt we stock.

Should I choose 265 GSM or 320 GSM?

Both are oversized, boxy blanks in 100% cotton, and both come in ecru for garment dyeing. This 265 GSM tee is the lighter of the two, with a high ribbed neckline; our 320 GSM ultra heavyweight tee in ecru is the heaviest, with a 2x1 ribbed neckline.

What colour is ecru?

Ecru is a warm, slightly creamy off-white: the natural colour of raw cotton. Colour names vary between suppliers, so order a single t-shirt to see it in daylight. Our guide to ecru vs white blank t-shirts compares the two for printing and dyeing.

Can it be garment dyed?

Yes. It’s made as a base for garment dyeing, and we can garment dye your order to any Pantone shade, with custom colours from 30 units. Like other bases made for dyeing, it avoids the optical brighteners that can stop dye taking evenly on bright white. Read how our garment dye service works.

What colours does it come in?

Ecru. The same oversized, boxy fit and high ribbed neckline also comes at 300 GSM in black and stone wash charcoal, and the heavy oversized 3 pack includes one black, one ecru and one stone wash charcoal.

What fabric is it made from?
